Pipefitting Apprenticeship

The Pipefitter installs, assembles, fabricates, maintains and repairs mechanical piping systems. They also maintain the heating and cooling systems for industrial, and commercial piping.

The apprenticeship is composed of a five year training program with hands-on work experience and classroom based training. The program consists of 1800 hours per year of on-the-job training, which is supervised by a certified journeyman. Apprentices must attend three night classes per week, with a traditional summer break, to study science, theory and practical application of the trade.

Upon completion of the five year training period and night classes, apprentices will receive a journey level status and completion certificate.
